Our goal is to raise $40,000 to be able to give Reading Partners Seattle a $20,000 match. ABOUT READING PARTNERS: Reading Partners is a national nonprofit that mobilizes communities to provide students with the proven, individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fourth grade. Reading is the foundation for all future learning, and research shows that students who read at grade level by fourth grade have a greater opportunity to succeed in school and beyond. The organization partners with Title 1 schools and engaged volunteers to provide one-on-one sessions for students. Learn more at: https://readingpartners.org/about-us/. READING PARTNERS SEATTLE: Reading Partners Seattle is in its 10th year of operation, after joining the Northwest educational landscape in 2014 with a goal to help elementary school students master foundational literacy skills and develop a love for learning. In the 2022-2023 school year, they partnered with eight schools to serve: - 253 students who participated in 12+ tutoring sessions. - 7,881 total tutoring sessions delivered. - 369 community tutors. - 5,555 books distributed to students through the "Take Reading with You" program. - 81% of K-2 students developing mastery of key foundational reading skills needed to read at grade level. - 100% of principals and teachers report Reading Partners is valuable to their school. In the current school year, Reading Partners Seattle has expanded into eleven schools in the region and is on track to serve over 400 students.
