About Love Smiles 2022 Book Drive

Love Smiles kicks off their annual book drive on "Giving Tuesday" and will collect books or money to purchase books through December. We have 30-32 book collection boxes at various business locations in the Chicagoland area, however if you are unable to drop new books off at one of those locations this fundraiser will help purchase books for the drive. You can participate in person or virtually through this platform! We hope to raise $5,000 and collect 500 books/coloring books/drawing pads and 150 boxes of crayons and/or markers, as well as pencils in our book collection boxes. Once the drive is over January 2nd several volunteers will collect the boxes and books, we will sort & organize materials and books into age categories, and then use the funds raised to purchase books, with the partnership of a local (Lockport, IL) Usborne Rep, from Usborne Books in the age groups with the least amount collected from the book boxes. We will also purchase any extra drawing and coloring materials that may be needed as well. The books and drawing/coloring supplies will be packed into our "Bags of Love" for pediatric cancer patients enduring treatment (outpatient or inpatient).
