About Roots for Boots

The goal of Roots for Boots is to meet the current needs and future challenges of military families, predominantly in rural areas. This grassroots organization attempts to simplify the process of locating services and funds available to our servicemen and women by providing a single source for information and/or assistance regarding their specific needs and interests. Supporting Roots for Boots is your way of serving your country - be part of the mission! Your Donation of $20 secures multiple canned goods for our monthly food bank MilitaryShare. Your Donation of $100 sends supplies needed for a Veteran to start a new job (clothing, work boots, gas card, etc.). Your Donation of $500 delivers new bedding such as a mattress, bed frame, sheets and pillows to a Veteran moving from a shelter to permanent housing. Your Donation of $1,000 provides the materials to install a handicapped accessible ramp at the home of a Veteran. Your Donation of $3,000 covers the expense of a monthly MilitaryShare fresh food distribution to Veterans and their families. Your Donation of $20,000 provides an all-terrain Action Track Chair with all expenses covered for the Veteran. *For every $2 donated through Thrivent's online giving platform on Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Thrivent will match $1 up to an additional $20,000 per Thrivent Member Network. All donations in support of this fundraiser will be made through Thrivent Charitable™. Thrivent will pay up to $300,000 in online processing fees per calendar year for personal donations made through Thrivent's online giving platform.
