Thrivent Action Teams

My group of friends gathered together to pack up our shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas child project.

We were very successful at assembling 157 health kits for Lutheran World Relief!

Our bake sale and Dinner is going well served over 200 meals

The dollars provided by Thrivent helped to make our Fall Festival at Calvary Church a huge success.  Over 800 people attended!

There was 16 volunteers who helped in the food pantry and to pray for the families in need. Everyone is loving and helpful! Grateful hearts!

4th Annual Family Fun Hot Cocoa Run

Quickel Lutheran Church provided groceries, toys, hat and scarves to over thirty families in a near by mobile home park.

Meadow Run Food Drive 2024

Augustana Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND held its annual Trunk or Treat event on October 31st, 2024, for the Near North Neighborhood. Several tables were decorated with a Halloween theme with a light supper served to 171 guests with total attendance estimated at 250.

Over thirty families picked out groceries, knitted hat and scarves, and toys!

Served around 60, ate wonderful fried chicken and dishes brought by the congregations.  Thank you Thrivent for supporting our missions!

We filled over 25 meal bags for the Roanoke Kindness Pantry.

We bought 450+ books to play Book Bingo with our local Middle School.Books are an extra commodity students don't always get. Every student came to play and left with one! Putting books in their hands was a highlight.

Fall Festival

St. John Lutheran, Bingen in Decatur IN co-sponsored our 12th Annual Community Trunk or Treat. We had 14 trunk sponsors, had games, dunk the Pastors and served chili and hotdogs to over 360 people from our community.

We had over 500 treaters, the snacks purchased helped offset the cost for those who brought trunks and gave out snacks.

Fun-Food-Fellowship

A dedicated group at St. Joseph Catholic Community Church in new Hope.  They are dedicated to make sure that no child goes hungry. .

Our seniors shared openly and gave thanks to the  Lord for all that has happened, including the passing of one of the believing husbands.

Our second annual craft fair was again successful. The bake sale was a very popular table again this year. All donations will help with repairs to our church.

We are getting ready for the Quilting Bee - members of the quilting group are designing and sewing to be sure all stations have a sample.

I loved watching how quickly the blankets came together.  We’re sharing our warmth with hurricane victims!

Our church youth, plus some adults, made fleece blankets for hurricane victims in North Carolina.  We’re sharing the warmth!

Right Turn Ministries goes to Honduras to share the gospel, provide meals to poor communities work on building projects and love on the people.

With a lot of hands we bagged up all of those cookies in just about one hour!  Fast and efficient!

Our teens and adult volunteers had a festival and taught kids about the life of Jesus through stories and fun activities.

We could provide food for needing families, so many families.

Our small church of roughly 30 regular attendees was able, with the help of Thrivent, to pack 266 boxes for Operation Christmas Child!

St Timothy Helps The Youth Detention Center

We sponsored A Trunk or Treat Event with our local Episcopal Church.  We  served over 3000 participants

When each of us shares our skills and talents, it is wonderful how donations are given to the mission of hurricane relief for western North Carolina. This photo is when organization comes together in packing for the departure.

Part of the Thrivent Action Team as we planned together reaching out to western North Carolina to provide hurricane relief.

By coordinating with a team of volunteers, I learned in life that in your senior years, one can still do things to reach out to others.

Blanket/Quilt Making

I helped Anderson Middle School create a calming room to be used by students who are experiencing emotional distress.

Thank you Thrivent for supporting St. John’s Lutheran Church in Covington, Ohio quilt service project for world wide distribution and our local Hospice and care center contribution.

Many Items were collected for the youth at the Norfolk detention center. We gave them snacks, drinks, breakfast items.

My favorite part of our educational retreat was the conversation around finding balance and boundaries between family and work.

Thrivent was able to allow us to use the seed money towards raising awareness for cancer through the Mary Kay Foundation.

Zion Lutheran Church and School held our Fall Festival on October 25, 2024, in Denver CO. Over 60% of the particioa ts were from the community!!

I and members of PMCF helped feed Orlando's homeless.

Prep For Breast Cancer Research Fundraiser

We prepped 96 items in my basement for the Pink Event on Nov 2.  As a result we exceeded our $30,000 goal for breast cancer research!

Trick Or Treat For Homebound Seniors

Calvary Lutheran Church and neighbors from the community joined together to provide snacks, drinks and treat bags during a "Trick or Treat with Jesus Night." We purchased small bottles of water and fruit punch plus packed over 300 bags of popcorn, pretzels, candy and goodies.

Halloween celebration volunteers First Lutheran, Vista

For my Eagle Scout Project, my troop helped me construct this gateway over the Hoover Natural Trail in West Branch, Iowa.

We had a terrific turnout for our spaghetti dinner raising funds for these youth! Thanks to Thrivent for covering the costs of supplies!

We bring unity to the community through the Gospel of Jesus. FIREs events bring multiple youth groups together to worship.

Church Community Trick Or Treating

The Harvest Festival at 1st Lutheran in Vista, CA opened the church run pre school Noah’s Ark to the community.

We had about 50 women at our mini- retreat with a nautical theme around Christ, our anchor.

Trinity Lutheran church and school in Toledo Ohio has been blessed to celebrate 150 years of sharing Jesus with everyone in our community.  On Sunday Nov 3 we gathered for a celebration luncheon. Congregation members, school families, and former Pastors and members joined together for an afternoon of fun, food and fellowship! Each family brought a wrapped gift with a value of $25 or more for our “secret” auction! Folks bid on each item not knowing what was inside these beautiful packages! We raised nearly $10,000 to be used for our organ fund, kitchen update and a local pregnancy center! God us so good!

It was so fun shopping for classroom toys and supplies!

We had a brunch following worship to raise money for shipping our Operation Christmas Child boxes later this month. We raised nearly $1000!

This event was a huge hit to help the girls softball team!  They exceeded what was expected to be raised and due to Thrivents donation and a ton of other donors to buy meat that was all raffled off they raised almost $11,000.00 dollars.

Being able to contribute to the needs of the babies that Brigid’s’s Path is caring for. I know these are much needed supplies for the babies
